I have a registered domain. I have that domain up and running on my Linux cluster using Myserver.org services.

I have configured Sendmail. I can send an e-mail from my mail server, but I cannot receive any mail. I am guessing that it is because I haven't set up my incoming mail correctly via DNS.

I am aware that some SMTP servers do not send e-mail to IP Addresses. To avoid this problem I am instructed to set up a sub-domain and point Myserver.org MX record at that subdomain.

How do I set up a sub-domain? I can find no interface at Myserver.org to carry out that task. Once I have this sub-domain in place I can make my mail server a member of that domain and, hopefully, start to receive my e-mails.

I am not using an external POP3 server. I want to control both SMTP and POP3 via my own mail server.

Look forward to some help here please.

In the MyServer.org application simply create another hostname (using ADD at the bottom). Then, create an MX record that points to that newly created name.
