Well, as expected from Sony, a new generation of LF units has been announced. The most interesting part of it is that now you can buy a separate LF Base and a software. Redesigned and updated LF-X11 model also entered the LF world. Read more here: http://news.sel.sony.com/pressrelease/6080

I am getting one next week, and I believe somehow Sony did away with DDNS service and the whole set up now is much easier with those new models. I will post some thoughts later.

Here is a quote from the press releasere DNS: \"The new LocationFree products also integrate a dynamic DNS service so there is no longer any need to use external dynamic DNS providers. This makes the setup process less complicated\". But what service? I will find out on Tuesday......

Well I finally received the 2nd gen LF - and the first thing I wanted to mention is that Sony has done some good work to simplify the whole setup process.
It will just take a few clicks to set up NetAV function - no more wasting time, trying to figure out all the settings.
As for the DNS service: Sony has integrated their own service in the Base called MyNetAV.
I have updated and posted some pics here
