Subject: MICROSOFT UPDATES: KB887980 & 902953 I DON'T NEED EITHER OF THESE. One is for Turkish Lira & second for Junk E-M (which I don't need)

HELP !!! If you can, please email me directly at: porky4@sympatico.ca Being a novice I am really confused and don’t want to make things worse.

I will be away on holidays until mid October and hopefully when I get back I will have an answer.

I had installed Microsoft Update thinking this would help my system…not so !!!

I could not figure out why everyday I had 2 new downloads when I was shutting down.

So I checked installed updates and I have about 40 of each of the above that failed.

Yesterday I disabled the Microsoft Update software. I've had no further attempts at automatic updates...

Okay, my problem is, how do I get rid of all those failed updates ??? .

ANOTHER PROBLEM

I do a Norton Anti Virus scan everyday and I have consistently had about 640,000 files and then all of a sudden early last week I have over a million files. YIKES !!!
Monday 1,065,574
Tuesday 1,065,797
Wednesday 1,092,066
Thursday 1,092,154
Friday 1,092,320

I have plenty of memory with 250gb HD, a slave 80gb HD internal and an external 250gb HD. Problem is it takes almost 2 hours to do a full scan and I don't now if these are the failed updates !!!

The following may or may not be related as I AM A NOVICE:

I am getting this: ANOTHER PROBLEM
Error when Windows was working with the Control Panel File
C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\netsetup.cpl

The above error message may have something to do with another problem which is in my Logitech VideoCam. I go to Control Panel and the Logitech icon keeps replicating it’s self….the other day I had 50 on screen….next morning when I started up they were gone. Very confusing. I then go back into Control Panel and again they start to replicate.

YES ANOTHER PROBLEM and that is approximately when all the problems started. My MS Spyware picked up an IBIS Toolbar Adware with a High-risk Threat level…….I had it deleted as it said I could lose loss of computer control.

I don’t want to do a system restore back to sometime in June as I will lose a lot of stuff that I need.

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ???
