I have Windows2000 server with exchange2000 server to control email for goobzkustomz.com (verizon DSL)

I'm not able to send mail from my server to AOL or ROAD RUNNER members.

This is half the reason for changing my services to changeip

I have 5 registrations and 7 ddns and I also bought 10mb DSMTP with changeip

I have family members and friends that have aol and rr addresses

In reading the FORUM here, I did set up a smart host on the delivery tab which i checked the box to try to deliver first then use the smart host

I have to admit, I'm not a brainiac and I consider myself a bit of an amatuer.

I will attach 2 screen shots of some settings that may help decipher my situation.

What I'm trying to accomplish is to get email to AOL and RR without buying more than I already have. I don't want to move email from my server to mailboxxes on yours. Can you help me figure out a way to get email from my server to AOL & RR directly or through you?

Thanks
GOOBZ

Hello,

Are you getting an error when sending this mail thru our servers? If the server is giving a 550 we do not relay error message then you need to have your server send the SMTP auth along as well... which I think exchange 2000 can do, but 5.5 cannot.

That SMTP failure that is shown in the screen shot you sent - is that a failure on our server, or AOL's server? from the pic I cannot tell.

Let me know if you have turned on SMTP auth on outbound security - if you are still getting the error let me know and we'll help you out. We have tons of people that relay only AOL and Excite, RR, etc thru us and its working great for them.

Thanks,
Sam

MY RESPONSE = It is from my server Which is set up in OUTLOOK 2000 attached to a networked exchange server

MY RESPONSE = I don't know how to do this?

MY RESPONSE = Maybe someone who is set up the same way I am can help too!!

Why is there NO response to my posting above?

Is this a closed issue in your eyes?

I am sorry - these forums are for user to user communications and chit-chat - and real support questions should always go to Support@ChangeIP.com.

However, let me address this here since many others will benefit from it as well.

I believe in the Outbound Security tab on your exchange setup you would specify Basic Authentication and use your relay accounts email address as the user and the password for that mailbox. This should allow Exchange to send mail to our servers for relaying using SMTP Auth.

Let me know what happens.

Thanks,
Sam

Would you please explain to me what a "Relay Account" is?
Do you mean an account on my server or yours"?
What makes it a relay account?

What initiates the "Offline URL"? I shut down my server and my offline URL did not work when I tried to access my web site.

I know you wrote that this was "user to user", but I didn't get a response from my last email to support and this is what I read under your "SUPPORT FORUM" section when I clicked "SUPPORT"

please post a message under the appropriate section. A member from the support team will follow up shortly. This is the best method of support since all other members will benefit from the conversation

account = GOOBZ
