Here is a way to keep using a web redirect and run from a dynamic ip.
Create yourself another host under the domain - call it something like 'dynamic' or 'home' or something. Assign this record the IP address you want and put it into a set for ddns updates. Then, change the record from the IP:Port to 'dynamic.example.org:8080' - that way it redirects to the name with the port as well... The update script will only update A records - not URLs - so this is a way around it.
Let me know if you still need more help. |

Okay. follow these steps to create a dynamically updatable web redirect:
In this example the domain name is 'example.org'
1. Add a new hostname to the domain by using the 'add host' function. For this example we will use 'dynamic' as the hostname.
2. The new host will automatically be set to your IP address and be in set #1.
The record we want to use for web redirects is 'www'.
3. In the address field for 'www' enter 'dynamic.example.org:8080'. Post the update.
4. The 'www' record is now a URL record and the 'dynamic' record is an A record.
Anytime you perform an update to Set 1 or a host you will update the A record. Automatically the 'www' record will be pointing at the correct IP with the port at the end of it.
Does that help?
