I have several questions i am trying to find answers to before i purchase LF-B10 or 20.
I am based on USA but my son is overseas . he has windows laptop but i am on Mac book pro (intel) OSX .

Q.1- my understanding is that if i connect TV cable to LF on one end and Internet cable on another he would be able to see whatever he wishes on his laptop.??

Q-2 Assuming above is correct, what happens to my watching TV if he starts watching other channel? would his viewing via LF interfere with my regular viewing?

Q-3 how many users would be able to watch LF at the same time.? my understanding it could be up to 8 ( reading some messages in this forum) but how much is the additional license and who issues it.?

Q-4 if i have 2 cable tv services , can I somehow feed both of them to LF.?

Both my internet setup and my son's are both based on wireless network.
in this case what do you recommend in terms of hardware / software?

Q-5 does the LF player software comes for both Windows and Mac.? if not do i have to purchase the Mac( OSX) version separately from IOdata?

Q-6 how does LF compares with Slingbox.?

thanks for your feedback.

Hi,
I will try my best to answer your questions.
1. Yes, when you set it all up and both of you have high speed internet access - your son will be able to watch American TV (whatever you feed to the box).
2. It depends how the LF box is connected to your TV. You can always read the manuals for Locationfree products online (Sony Support site) for different ways of connecting. LF-PK1 has an RF in, so you can actually feed your cable TV and it will not interfere your viewing.
3. Only 1 user at a time can watch the streaming content and up to 8 devices can be registered to one base station. Additional licenses are sold at Sonystyle.com for $29.99
4. Yes, you can feed two cable services to one box as the box has 2 AV inputs.
5. LF Software is only for Windows. You will have to get Mac software separately.
