I'm interested in offering my services, free of charge, to develop a version of Dynamic DNS which is based on an NT service, so that firedaemon would not be necessary. Let me know if you're interested.
Perhaps your project is already open to contributions. I just ran across myserver.org today and found no mention (on a cursory glance, admittedly) of this as an open project.

Nevermind, I found the link to the source:
http://www.myserver.org/Download/2.0.0022.zip
Unfortunately I assumed it'd be C, C++, or C#. I didn't expect to see this type of an app written in VB. I have no interest in working on a VB project so I regretfully withdraw my offer of gratis assistance.

Hello,
We obviously have an open standard for updating our dynamic dns service, so anyone wanting to write a client app will get a good one published on our site listings. The Myserver.org application is clunkey (sssshhh) and isn't really a great program. We inherited this from the previous owners of MyServer.org. If you wish to write a client app in C or C++, feel free to. We will post your application on our site if you complete it and its presentable to the public.
PS - Check out http://www.changeip.com/clients.asp#specs for the specifications of ddns updates on our site.
Thanks,
Sam |
