I installed the new version 2.0.105 two days ago. Now, I find when I get up in the morning, I check to see if everything is working ok, I see it is "Not Responding".

The older version seemed to work without any problems. I've changed nothing on my system.

I run,

WinXP
1.3Ghz
750k memory

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I also seem to have this problem with homingbeacon 2.0.111
I run windows 2000 advanced server. Sometimes it will stop responding shortly after being started. Almost always in the period of over night it will stop responding. Can anyone help with this?

We have heard a few reports of this over the past week. We will be troubleshooting this now and will followup with any status.

I beleave I've found the problem. In the logs, just befor it stops responding. It vists "66985 - 4/1/2003 3:50:15 AM - Info - IP Detect Using: http://www.enteract.com/faq/ip.shtml (http)" That seems to be invalid for ip detection. I've checked all the ip detect address, and removed the incorrect ones. Sence it's been running fine! I beleave you guys need to update the list it gets.

You know what - I just got up this morning and saw that mine was locked up as well, on that same URL. I have since removed it from the IP detectors list so within a few hours all will have the changes. I will look into why this is causing problems - maybe the MSXML4 XMLHTTP object does not like being redirected multiple times or something ... anyhow, I believe this is the problem URL and I have removed it.

Any existing HomingBeacon instances out there will automatically download the new listing of URLs within 24 hours - otherwise you can enter the Options link, click on Refresh Detectors, and you will get the new list.

Thanks,
Sam
