Hi. I've got one more question. When I set up my Dynamic SMTP, I was asked if I wanted normal queuing or ETRN. I was also asked if I wanted a "destination host/smart host/mail exchanger/IP" or to use "MX record lookups for delivery." I've looked around the site, and I can't find any info about these options. I left them both in the default modes. Can you give me a little more info on these, or is this one of those "if you don't understand, then just leave it like it is" things? Thanks.

There are two different queueing methods for Dynamic SMTP. The typical is the NORM queueing. This means that when we receive an email for your servers it will immediately be forwarded to your server, if available. If it is not delivered immediately it is placed into the retry folder. The retry intervals are like each 10 mins, 20 mins, 30 mins, 60 mins, etc until delivery happens, or it times out 5 days later.

ETRN queueing means that when we receive an email for your domain we will just store it and not attempt immediately delivery. ETRN is a triggered download - you send the ETRN command from your mail software and it will tell our servers that you are requesting to have your mail delivered at that time. ETRN is good for people on dialup or servers that are not always on. No point in trying to deliver mail to your server for days if it's off for the weekend right?

A Smarthost / Destination Host tells our system exactly which mail server to deliver the mail to. If this is used then we ignore all MX records for the domain and deliver mail specifically to what you've entered into that field. If you are using alternate port 25 SMTP devliery then you must specify a smart host : port.

We apologize for the lack of instructions. We are working on adding more wizards, documentation, help pages, and this forum is building. As always though an email to support gets your questions answered.

Thanks!
