hi
we had port 80 blocked but no I don't think so, but
it looks like ISA server & MS Firewall grab that. What's
the best way to change the Domain name routing so
that ChangeIP can be the 3rd DNS record and our ISP
that finally gave us static IP service can be 1 & 2?

Right now we're using

http://www.mydomain.com ==>
dynamic.mydomain.com:other port

and I have the website on the 'other port'.

I thnk I'd like to 'put it back' now that we have static
IP...

But don't want to be down much in the meantime.

David,

Our Dynamic DNS services can handle both dynamic IP addresses as well as static IP addresses. Having our DDNS means that you can change your records and have them take effect within a few minutes - even if you only change them once in a blue moon. You can use our DDNS services to provide you fast edits as well as instant access via our website.

You would not want to list another ISPs DNS servers with ours - they would never be in sync and would cause problems. The entire set of NS records needs to be from the same group of DNS servers otherwise there will be conflicts. If you choose your ISP or webhost to provide DNS for you the changes you need to make most likely will leave your site down for 24-72 hours while the changes take effect. This is the major benefit of using ChangeIP.com DNS - changes only take 5 minutes or less.

Also - you can perform URL redirects using our DNS services as well - just enter the full URL and port number into the address field.

Did that help?
