Question - Does your ADSL router support ChangeIP on it's DDNS configuration?

I have worked my way through three ADSL routers recently and only one of them supported ChangeIP on it's DDNS. Anyone know why? I've mailed the two manufacturers who don't have it and haven't had any response.

For those interested, the equipment was:

Vigor 2200USB - Made by a company called DrayTek. Very good but developed some very odd problems leaving it blasting my network with rubbish and nothing connected. Shame because I liked this unit. This DID have ChangeIP but was limited to a few dynamic domains only.

Linksys WAG54G - Abysmal unit and I was glad when the power supply blew up after a month. More details here

(Search for \"David Knill\" to find my comments - Too long to repost here)

Netgear DG834G - I can't rate this unit highly enough. If it had ChangeIP on it's DDNS, it'd get 11 out of 10.

So, maybe if enough people shout, we can get Netgear and the others to add ChangeIP to their DDNS. It's only a firmware upgrade away... What do you think?

Hi Dave,

i don't know if it is interesting for you, after this long period of time, but all LANCOM Systems Router support ChangeIP.com. They work with a very flexible \"Action-Table\", with witch it is possible to support nearly all DynDNS Providers at all. ;) Here's the Link: http://www.lancom-systems.com
I you have any further questions, feel free to msg me. I own nearly all Models. ;)

Ciao

We are working with these vendors to try to add support for our systems. The fact that we support the same update protocols as the other ddns providers should make it easy for them to add us, simply allow the end user to change the update URL and it should work.

I believe DLink has just added us in the newest firmware of their cameras and some routers. We already existed in some of the DLink routers previously. SMC I believe supports us. SonicWall has just came out with their newer firewall appliance that has our service built in, which by the way is a very nice unit. Stateful packet filtering on that baby.

The more people that email the vendors and ask for support the better. We will followup with these guys again here shortly - the emails and calls seem to go into a black hole at these larger companies.

Sam
